Subject: A wonderful movie.
The songs were so well performed. The young Perry Como is soft and soothing when he sings. I give this movie five stars.

I must say, about 15 minutes into this movie I almost shut it off; I'm so glad I didn't! This is a wonderful film with outstanding musical numbers. I'll give an extra 'star' for the rating because the songs were so well-writen and performed. Kudos to the cast and crew
Subject: aw schucks
This is a Sweet movie where nobody gets hurt. Features Perry Como who was a top ten singer in those days. title tunes not bad either. No real burly Q. sort of damon runyonesque, that's to say of a genre now long gone when Brooklyn was center of the universe- a movie about a buncha nobodies and nobodies are the best people on earth.
I admit I have a weakness for it.
Subject: Carmen Miranda
Too corny for me but my wife likes it.
If Carmen Miranda wasn't in it I wouldn't watch it. Isn't she great?
Subject: A Doll of a Doll (Face)
Lively backstage life in the world of burlesque. A young Perry Como sings, but doesn't look quite the same as he did in his later years. Did he treat himself to a nose job? In any case, his singing is unmistakable, soft and soothing. Dennis O'Keefe is semi-convincing as a manager harbouring a crude version of the English language. He looks brighter than his lingo suggests. The movie is entertaining and quite watchable.
